I love shopping in the market. I'm naturally indecisive when it comes to planning future meals, so having everything spread out in front of me helps with the inspiration.
I love that you can ask a butcher or a fishmonger how to cook something, or what goes best with it and they know the answer. I love that they'll happily tell you what they've put in their sausages, or when the fish arrived, and will weigh everything out for you. And I love that they don't mind when you wander round the entire place three times before making a decision.
We've taken to going shopping in the market every Saturday, buying something interesting and sometimes extravagant for Sunday dinner and something to make a batch to last a few meals during the week.
I also like to visit the craft stalls and material stalls. I tend to take a scatter-gun approach to crafting - I'll start a project (be it knitting, crocheting, sewing, origami and other paper crafts), devote everything to one pattern in a week or two, then won't touch the same craft method again for a while. I'm not an expert in anything, but like to try new things and learn new bits and pieces on the way!
This blog will be a collection of recipes for both food and drinks, cool things that I would like to have in my home/try one day or generally find interesting plus other assorted adventures!
